THE BAND is a quirky and humorous contemporary circus theatre production with a rousing soundtrack.
It’s their final gig. Sandy and Bruno met in the seventies to form a band. She was fame hungry; he was doomed to follow her. As one hit wonders, this is a story of their big come-back. With Sandy’s determination and Bruno’s blissful dedication to her, they are here; not by popular demand, but by sheer defiance.
The performers bring their unique physicality and instinctive onstage chemistry to this quirky love story in which blind devotion meets desperate ambition.
As an optional extra to booking the show, Levantes offers a chance for up to three local people (18+) to join the performance as groupies of THE BAND, with a three- hour* engagement package that includes costumes and makeup. *online and in- person engagement package *excluding shows. All costumes and make up provided.

“super physical theatre that sends you home with a warm feeling inside” Seeing Dance
“I can’t recall the last time I saw anything as intensively inventive as The Band, the story of a couple of 1970s one-hit wonders struggling to cope with their decline and dreaming of a comeback, a doomed fantasy brought to life in a mesmerising onehour mash-up of dance, theatre, mime, acrobatics, cabaret, clowning, music, film and aerial skills. The very best of eyebrow music entertainment soundtrack ranged from George Ezra’s ridiculously chirpy Cassy O to Connie Francis’s heartbreaking version of I’m Sorry I Made You Cry by way of a breathless take on Teach Me Tiger by April Stevens. THE BAND The show at the Albany was devised and performed by Laban-trained Eleni succeeded in being at once funny, sad, Edipidi and Nathan Johnston of the exuberant, reflective, celebratory and Levantes Dance Theatre and triumphantly elegiac in equal measure. The terrific But it was the breakneck performances of Edipidi and Johnston – who incidentally has the most expressive eyebrows I’ve ever seen - that made this show so fantastic and created a multi-faceted, multi-sensory, multi-disciplinary melange of magic through their remarkable artistry and vision.” Miles Hedley - Greenwich Visitor
